Karena Clarke is a talented vocalist, innovative songwriter, and energetic performer with unique and captivating Jamaican beauty. The native New Yorker possesses a strong work ethic and passion for music while maintaining a down to earth, humble personality.
Clarke is no amateur to the music world. She started writing at the age of eight and has consistently developed her sound over the past years.
“My music is very authentic and influenced by my life experiences. I hurt just like everybody and cry just like everybody, Clarke explains.
Karena’s vocal talents were first discovered at a tender age of 4, when her mother walked into her playroom and discovered Karena had gathered all her teddy bears and lined them up to create an audience for her performance. “She was singing Mary J. Blige’s “I’m Goin Down” using the remote control as her microphone-I was amazed!”
At age 8, Karena’s mother decided to move the family from New York to Miami. As a child instead of playing outside or watching cartoons, Karena found a much greater comfort in studying and rehearsing her craft.
Karena’s hard work has earned her the opportunity to perform on BET’s 106 & Park’s Wild-Out Wednesday " and has caught the eye of many local DJ’s in South Florida. In August 2015, Clarke released her EP titled “Tainted” and headlined a sold out showcase.
